Tom Anderson (@TomHCAnderson) describes in his post “Leveraging Social Media with Text Analytics” what the primary ways are for leveraging social media for your clients.

A) Be selective – prioritize all of the unstructured data sources rather than trying to “boil the ocean.”
B) Text analytics are not the end-all – Sentiment analysis is not sufficient, as the bulk of social conversations convey a spectrum of emotions.
C) There is no one tool out there for every situation. The needs differ tremendously by both data source as well as use case.
